WHAT'S IN HER BAG

Catherine's 10 essentials

inside catherine hamilton's bag

inside miss catherine h's bag
1. Just the corner of my beautiful Dautore handbag with its amazing lining, zipper pulls that look more like jewelry, and fabulously soft leather, it's more of a friend than an owned object.
2. Red vintage wallet
I can't remember where I got it, but it's nice enough to be a clutch.
3. In Sophie's Bag card holder
, for business cards and to keep those slippery subway cards from randomly vanishing. Embossed business card designed by Peggy!!
4. iPod cover sock from Tar-jay
What's on her iPod? Currently over-listening to The Knife, The Brazilian Girls, Asobi Seksu, The Eyesores....
5. Emergency kit
a Cole Hahn case to keep those things that girls with allergies must have with them at all times, but need something cooler - must look soon! I have been known to drive from Brooklyn just to get things from Figments.
6. Cell phone
duh. I'm so over these flip-open phones, want something like the ones that came out in the 90's: can't care less about cameras and net capabilities and interface - I want a battery that lasts for a week.
7. Keys for when we need to get outta NY, for times when the Metrocard won't take me far enough. Especially easy to locate in a bottomless bag because of the attached Graphic Image keyring.
8. Quo Vadis Agenda
perfect size, perfect color, perfect for an artist with tendencies to space out appointment times.
9. Prada sunglasses
with reddish lenses that should look terrible but actually look great on. Just different enough that I don't look like I bought this season's batch of large glasses just cause everyone else did...
10. Midori pencil case
with fuzzy embroidered hedgehog on it to keep my favorite pens always on hand. It holds five, so some of them are running out of ink and some are brand new - good things for artists.
