ABOUT FIGMENTS
Peggy Lo, got her first set of, "cool" stationery when she was seven. It was a prize from her mother for doing well in school. She fondly remembers she hand-picked the set, and she was, "hooked" ever since. Peggy made frequent trips to the stationery store around the corner of her parents' apartment in Taipei. The store was a tiny shop with florcent lights, and stuffed with boxes of paper. She had 30+ pencil boxes (the kind with more than 10 compartments), notebooks, and pads...it was her childhood dream to own a stationery store.
After graduating from Rhode Island School of Design with a degree in Graphic Design, Peggy spent five years designing for big corporations, academic institutions and her private handbag and card line, In Sophie's Bag. In summer 2004, a friend of Peggy's, showed her the potential space, Peggy sought an opportunity for her to open a little paper store and design studio so she wouldn't have to travel to Boston or New York for wonderful paper goods. In Fall 2004, with friends and families' blessing and support, Peggy gave up her full-time job to open Figments.
The retail space is stocked with thoughtful, well-designed and hard-to-find paper goods and gifts from around the world. Also, Figments has a collection of the most beautiful and contemporary custom wedding invitation and baby announcement lines in this country.
"If you want to have the most memorable event, you should start with the most memorable invitations." Peggy said.
